The Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, led a delegation to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on Friday, June 13, 2025. The visit aimed to seek knowledge, explore opportunities for collaboration, and strengthen institutional partnerships between the two states on emergency management.
Hon. Adebawo and his delegation were warmly received by the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, at the agency’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.

While welcoming the delegation, Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu emphasized LASEMA’s commitment to sharing knowledge and best practices with other states.
Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu noted that Lagos State has continued to lead in emergency management, attributing this success to human capacity building and government investment in the agency. He expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering commitment to LASEMA’s development.
The Permanent Secretary emphasized that Lagos State is fully prepared to respond to any emergency, citing the agency’s robust command-and-control center, upgraded emergency response models, and regular simulation exercises. He assured that LASEMA will continue to collaborate with Ondo state and others to enhance emergency management across Nigeria.
Hon. Adebawo thanked the LASEMA management for the warm reception, emphasizing that the visit marked a significant step towards strengthening ties between Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA) and LASEMA. He acknowledged the efforts of Ondo state Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, the Permanent Secretary Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Idowu Ojo, the Director of Finance and Administration, ODSEMA, Mr. Fredrick Orunkan and other stakeholders in enhancing emergency management in Ondo State.

Hon. Adebawo expressed confidence that the engagement with LASEPA would yield valuable insights and best practices to enhance Ondo State’s emergency response capabilities. He highlighted Ondo State’s commitment to mitigating disasters, particularly floods, and noted that the visit was part of Governor Aiyedatiwa-led administration’s efforts to prioritize the safety and well-being of citizens.

Following the meeting, Hon. Adebawo and his delegation participated in an intensive brainstorming session led by LASEMA’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nosa Okunbor. The session provided an in-depth overview of LASEMA’s operations and achievements.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu and his delegation led Hon. Adebawo and his team to the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) to seek collaboration and strengthen institutional partnerships on disaster management and environmental resilience.
The delegation was received by the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, at the agency’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.

Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu also led Hon. Adebawo and the team to the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development. There, they met with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa.
