Hon. Princess Olawumi Annah Fayemi-Obayelu, Ondo State House of Assembly Member representing Ilaje Constituency II and Chairman, House Committee on Investment, Culture, Tourism and Special duties participated in the two-day Capacity Building Program on Emergency Prevention and Response (EPR) in preparation for the EPR World Bank Project in Ondo State.
The program, held in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Abuja, and the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA), was a World Bank–sponsored project aimed at strengthening the preparedness and responsiveness of local government first responders.
Special appreciation goes to the Director-General of NEMA and Mr. Francis, the World Bank Representative, for their unwavering support and partnership in making the training a reality and picking Ondo state as one of the seven states in country for the world bank pilot project.
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, ably represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Falodun, congratulated the local government first responders, who were earlier inaugurated by the Governor of Ondo State and charged them to uphold professionalism, dedication, and swiftness in mitigating emergencies across the state.
Hon. Princess Olawumi Annah Fayemi-Obayelu commended the collaborative efforts between NEMA, ODSEMA and the World Bank, noting that such initiatives will go a long way in saving lives, reducing disaster risks in the flood prone areas of the state expecially in the riverine communities and ensuring that communities are better equipped to handle emergencies.
