In a significant development ahead of the general elections, the Progressive Ondo South Alliance (POSA) has thrown its weight behind Barr. Morayo Lebi as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ondo South Senatorial District. This endorsement was made during a meeting held in Akure on Saturday, August 16, 2025, attended by coordinators from each of the six local government areas within the senatorial district.
The meeting, chaired by Amb. Enikanselu Benson, brought together representatives from across the district, including Mr. Oyinbo Jide (Ilaje), Comrade Goodluck Alfred (Ese-Odo), Mr. Atata Irewole (Irele), Barr. Babajide Ojo (Okitipupa), Engr. Feyipitan Iyanu (Odigbo), and Mr. Fadimu George (Ile-Oluji/Oke-igbo). The group cited several compelling reasons for their decision to back Barr. Lebi’s candidacy.
According to the POSA leaders, Barr. Lebi’s extensive experience, long-standing loyalty and commitment to the APC make him an ideal candidate for the Ondo South Senatorial District. They stressed that his unwavering dedication to the party’s growth and development, particularly in the South Senatorial District, has to be rewarded. POSA added that Barr. Lebi’s grassroots approach and ability to connect with the people have earned him widespread admiration and support.
The group stated that Barr. Lebi’s vision for the district aligns with the needs and aspirations of the people, adding that his proposals for promoting economic development, and enhancing the living standards of the people have resonated with many.
They implored all stakeholders and members of the APC alike to give their unalloyed support to Barr. Lebi, saying that they are well convinced about his leadership qualities and mettle which according to them, are what the people of Ondo South Senatorial District need.
