I wish to commend the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the November 16, 2024 election in Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, for his patriotic and statesmanlike decision to withdraw his appeal pending before the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
This bold step, formally communicated through his letter dated September 16, 2025, to the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, represents a rare demonstration of maturity, courage, and sacrifice in putting the collective peace and progress of Ondo State above partisan considerations. It is a gesture that will resonate positively in our political history and deepen democratic stability.
By this decision, Hon. Agboola Ajayi has not only shown true leadership but also helped to strengthen the legitimacy of our democratic institutions. His action has spared our dear state unnecessary distractions and created a more harmonious atmosphere that will allow all political actors to work together for the good of the people.
I warmly congratulate the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on the renewed validation of his historic victory across all 18 Local Government Areas. This outcome is not just a personal triumph, but a clear expression of the will of God and the collective voice of our people. More importantly, it presents a fresh opportunity for inclusiveness, reconciliation, and a shared commitment to governance that welcomes every political tendency and unites us all in building a stronger, more prosperous Ondo State.”
For the first time, Ondo State has set a precedent by resolving a post-election dispute peacefully; a clear sign of growing political maturity and a new spirit of inter-party cooperation. This uncommon development is not just a break from the past, but a shining precedent that reflects political maturity, mutual respect, and an evolving democratic culture. It offers Ondo State a new model of inter-party relations , one built on dialogue, reconciliation, and a shared vision for OUR EASE.
This is not just a PDP or APC victory, it is a victory for democracy, for peace, and for the good people of Ondo State and a confirmation that OUR EASE is here.
The office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs will continue to build bridges across political divides, collaborate with the all political parties and other political interest groups in the state for the purpose of promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and inclusiveness vis-à-vis ensuring that leaders across party lines contribute meaningfully to the progress of our beloved state.
We are by this development reminded that beyond politics, we are all united by a greater purpose which are “the peace, progress, and prosperity of Ondo State”. I therefore call on all political parties, leaders, and stakeholders to seize this moment to close ranks, heal old wounds, and work together with our amiable Governor and Leader , Lucky Aiyedatiwa in building a state where no one is left behind.

SA to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs
