On Thursday, January 1, 2026, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response and Safety Enforcement, alongside officials of the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA) and the Honourable Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Hon. Timilehin Adelegbe, visited the Ipele Police Station in Owo Local Government Area Development Authority (LCDA), Ondo State, following New Year’s Eve attacks.
Hon. Adelegbe condemned the incident, describing it as “too much” and “very unfortunate.” He donated ₦5 million instantly to kickstart the construction of a new police station. Adelegbe sympathized with the police officers and the people of the community and appealed to community leaders to constitute a committee for the building project.
The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response and Safety Enforcement, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Adebawo, assured the community of government support, acknowledging Adelegbe’s donation and vowing to assess damages and take swift action.
The Governor’s aide said the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA) under the leadership of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni, would always rise to the occasion when incident like that happens. He reassured that the necessary actions that would bring total relief will be taken by the state government following their visit.
The Chairman of Owo East LCDA, Hon. Olatunbosun Agaun, appreciated the state government’s prompt response and Hon. Adelegbe’s generosity. He appealed for the immediate restoration of the police station.
The team also visited the Olupele of Ipele, Oba Samuel Oluwashola Adesanmi Daramola, to brief him on the government’s intervention.
At the palace, Hon. Adelegbe approved the construction of the collapsed bridge near the king’s palace.
