The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice-Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ibas, has officially approved the appointment of eleven new Permanent Secretaries to strengthen the state’s civil service structure.
According to a statement released by the Acting Head of Service, Inyingi Brown, the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include Imaonyani Roselin Ephraim-George, Dr. Mina T. Ikuru, Dabite Sokari George, Soibitein Duke Harry, Lauretta Davies Dimkpa, and Uche R. Ideozu.
Others appointed are Chimenum Mpi, Jeremiah Egwu, Nicholas Iminabo Wokoma, Vera Sam Dike, and Aleruchi Akani. Thepulseinfo reports that the swearing-in ceremony for the new officials will be held on a later date to be officially announced.
During the 58th Rivers State anniversary celebration in Port Harcourt, Ibas expressed confidence that the current political crisis in the state can be resolved through peaceful dialogue. He emphasized that the issue is a political disagreement, not a war, and should be approached with negotiations rather than confrontation.
Citing global precedents, Ibas encouraged political stakeholders to choose unity over division, noting that most conflicts, regardless of duration, are eventually resolved through meaningful engagement and courageous leadership.
