The groundbreaking Students Empowerment Symposium themed “Beyond Degrees: Harnessing Soft Skills and Vocational Training for Sustainable Employability in Modern Nigeria” is set to bring together top government officials, student leaders, and academic dignitaries to address the pressing issue of youth employability in contemporary Nigeria.
The symposium will be graced by distinguished guests including Hon. Kelvin Solomon Olaolu (KSO), Special Senior Assistant on Students Affairs to the Ondo State Government, who will lead Students Leaders representation at the event in his official capacity. Student leadership will be robustly represented by Adekanye Mayomi Adeboye, NANS JCC Chairman Ondo Axis, Comr. Abejoye Adegoriola (Psalmmy), Chairman of the National Association of University Students CMC Ondo State, Aniefiok Gideon D. (Kuwait), Student Union President of Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo, and Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin (Coded), Global President of the National Association of Ondo State Students and other Institutions Students Union Presidents.
The symposium also features an impressive lineup of academic speakers as earlier announced, which includes including Professor Clement Daramola, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Professor Oluyemisi Adebowale, Chairman Board of Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative, and Professor Samuel Akintunde, Acting Vice Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo. These distinguished academics will share insights on bridging the gap between academic qualifications and market-ready skills.
Adding royal dignity to the occasion, HRM Oba Olugbenga Ojo, the Iralepo of Isinkan, and HRH Oba Raymond Akinyele, the Ekii of Ifore, will serve as Royal Fathers of the Day, underscoring the traditional support for youth development initiatives in Ondo State.
In a bid to provide immediate value to participants, the organizers have announced exciting freebies including free haircuts for 100 participants, free hair dressing services for 200 participants, and free MTN SIM registration for 500 participants. These practical offerings demonstrate the symposium’s commitment to addressing both professional development and immediate student needs.
