The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Ondo State, Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi, on Thursday arrived Imo State to attend a high-level APC Youth Commissioners’ Program convened by the Governor of Imo State, a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event brought together all Commissioners for Youth and Sports across the 36 states of the federation who are members of the APC, providing a platform for national collaboration on youth empowerment, sports development, and inter-state partnership.
Upon arrival, Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi received a warm and symbolic welcome from the leadership of the National Association of Imo State Students (NAISS), led by National President Comr. Obi Anthony, alongside other executives of the association. This show of solidarity was facilitated by the dynamic and erudite Comr. Alade Temitope, NAOSS Global President. As a token of unity, friendship, and cultural solidarity, NAISS presented the Ondo State Commissioner with a magnificent glass portrait and adorned him with a traditional Igbo muffler attire, symbolizing peace, love, and inter-state brotherhood. The Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Imo State was also present during this gesture of goodwill.
In demonstration of unity, friendship, and cultural harmony, NAISS presented the Ondo State Commissioner with a large glass portrait and adorned him with a traditional Igbo muffler attire, signifying peace, love, and inter-state brotherhood. The Commissioner for Youth development and talent hunt Imo and Lagos State commissioner for youth and Sports were also present during this exchange of goodwill.
Speaking during the presentation, Comr. Obi Anthony stated:
“ This gesture reflects the spirit of unity among Nigerian students and youth leaders. We appreciate Hon. Segun Omoyofunmi for representing his state with commitment and excellence.”
Responding, Hon. Omoyofunmi expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of nationwide youth collaboration. He commended the students for their hospitality and reaffirmed the commitment of Ondo State to progressive youth development and inter-state partnership.
“Nigeria is stronger when our youths unite beyond state and tribe. What we have witnessed here today is a symbol of love, unity, and national progress,” he said.
The event further strengthens the bond between Ondo State and Imo State while reinforcing the role of young people as strategic partners in national development.
